SAA Baseball Player of the Week - Jacob Delk of Berry
Hitting .636 on the week, Jacob Delk (pictured at right) led the Berry College baseball team to a 2-1 series win over the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe University. Delk started the week 1-for-3 in Berry's 8-2 victory over Oglethorpe on Friday. He was then 4-for-5 at the plate in game two of the series, scoring twice and knocking in one RBI. Delk also added a double in the contest, knocking in Berry's final RBI of the game to bring a ninth-inning rally within one run of the lead. Delk finished the week 2-for-3 at the plate against Oglethorpe on Saturday. He scored three times and knocked in three runs as well, homering in the bottom of the sixth inning. Delk hit .636 on the week, knocking in four RBIs, scoring five times, stealing one base and adding a home run. He also added a perfect 1.000 slugging percentage, as well as a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage for the Vikings. Behind Delk, the Vikings are 19-17 overall, as well as 8-10 in the SAA, as they enter their final weekend of regular season conference play.
