SAA Baseball Player of the Week - Alfred Francis of Berry
Batting .688 on the week with eight runs, two doubles and two triples, Alfred Francis led the Berry College baseball team on the week. Francis started the week a perfect 6-for-6 in his first six plate appearances. He was 5-for-5 in the Vikings' 13-8 victory against La Verne University on Wednesday. He scored five times in the outing as well and knocked in one run for the Vikings. Francis also added a stolen base in the contest, as well as a triple. He was then 1-for-3 at the plate in game two against the Kingsmen, adding his second stolen base on the week, as well as a walk in the contest. Francis finished 2-for-4 against Claremont-M-S on Saturday to round out the week. He scored once in the contest and knocked in an RBI as well, adding his second triple of the week in the outing. On the week, Francis also posted a .706 on base percentage, as well as a 1.063 slugging percentage, while adding 17 total bases. Defensively, Francis boasted a .955 fielding percentage, with 17 assists and four put outs while turning two double plays. Francis is batting .480 on the year, ranking first in the SAA. Behind Francis, the Vikings are now 12-10 overall, as well as 3-3 in conference play.
