    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2017 Spring Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 79 student-athletes among the league’s eight full-time members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play among all competitors.
  • Lynx Rally To Upset BSC For Baseball Crown

    BIRMINGHAM - The Rhodes baseball team won back-to-back games on Sunday afternoon to upset top seed Birmingham Southern and win the 2017 SAA Baseball title. The Lynx rallied to win game two 11-8 before hanging on to win game three, 4-3 to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2017 Men’s Tennis All-Conference award winners on Thursday and Millsaps’ Diego Marti-Vertiz captured the top honor of Player of the Year. The Newcomer of the Year went to Ricky Chatterjee of Rhodes and Millsaps’ head coach Jason Box was declared Coach of the Year by his peers.

    ATLANTA - The SAA announced the 2017 Men's Track & Field All-Conference award winners and, after voting by the league's head coaches, Jamal Watkins of Birmingham-Southern captured his second straight Track Athlete of the Year honor. Renn Eason also captured his second straight Field Athlete of the Year award and Zech Montogmery of Hendrix earned Newcomer of the Year status. Kenneth Cox of Birmingham-Southern earned his second consecutive SAA Coach of the Year nod from his voting peers.

    ATLANTA – The SAA released the 2017 Women’s Tennis postseason award winners on Thursday and, after voting by the league head coaches, Carlee Petro of Birmingham-Southern claimed Player of the Year honors. Sewanee’s Ellie Czura captured Newcomer of the Year while Centre’s Currie Martin earned the Coach of the Year nod from his peers.

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2017 Women's Track & Field All-Conference award winners and, after voting among the league's head coaches, Annie Rodenfels of Centre and Genesis Leggett of Berry captured Track Athlete of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year, respectively. Kayla Trice of Oglethorpe won Newcomer of the Year while Rhodes’ Robert Shankman was named Coach of the Year after delivering the Lynx’ fifth straight SAA title.

    ATLANTA – The SAA released the 2017 Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference award winners on Tuesday and Offensive Player of the Year went to Berry’s Quentin Johnson while Centre’s Jake Marfise captured the Defensive Player of the Year honor. Newcomer of the Year was claimed by James Margraff of Rhodes while his Lynx head coach Dave Zazzaro collected his second consecutive Coach of the Year award.

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2017 Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference award winners on Tuesday and, following voting by the league head coaches, Centre’s Hannah Bellamah claimed Offensive Player of the Year while Sewanee’s Brianna Young collected the Defensive Player of the Year award. Claire Voltarel of Berry won Newcomer of the Year status and first-year head coach Shawna Block of Oglethorpe was named Coach of the Year by her peers.

    MEMPHIS - Sewanee topped Rhodes 8-7 in a tight men's lacrosse championship match on Sunday that came down to the final seconds. With the victory, the Tigers secured their third straight SAA title and fifth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Newcomer of the Year status went to Colin Brown of Hendrix and Jan Weisberg of Birmingham-Southern was named Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season by his peers.

    ATLANTA - The SAA announced the final baseball Players of the Week for the spring 2017 season and Matthew Lillard of Hendrix claimed Player of the Week after putting on a clinic at the dish. On the mound, none could top Rhodes' Blake Glauben who tossed his first career no-hitter en route to the Lynx clinching the No. 2 seed in the SAA Tournament.

    MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men's outdoor track and field team successfully defended its SAA Title Saturday. The Panthers scored 81 more than Rhodes College with 227.5 points to win their second consecutive crown.

    MOUNT BERRY - The Rhodes women's track & field team surged ahead of Centre on Saturday to win their fifth straight SAA Women's Track & Field crown. The Lynx turned a Friday deficit into a Saturday lead to top the Colonels, 180-163.

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2017 Softball All-Conference Award winners at a banquet held at Warner Park in Chattanooga on Thursday evening. Top honors of Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year were garnered by Rhodes’ Christine Hume and Berry’s Marie Collop, respectively. Kayla Davidson of Millsaps earned Newcomer of the Year and Berry’s Cori Thiermann claimed Coach of the Year after guiding the Vikings to a 35-2 season.
