Memphis, Tenn. (May 14, 2018) - The NCAA Division III Baseball Committee selected 58 teams for the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship to be held May 17-20/21. Forty teams earned automatic qualifications after winning their respective conference tournaments, while two teams earned Pool B selections (Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Wisconsin-Whitewater) and the remaining 16 teams earned Pool C selections.

Rhodes, who defeated Berry to win the Southern Athletic Association Tournament Championship, has earned the fourth seed in the Central Regional, hosted by Webster University. The Lynx haven't played a game since April 29th and will open the regional against No. 5-seeded Franklin College at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17th at GCS Credit Union Ballpark in Sauget, Ill.

Six teams will compete at three regional sites and eight teams, including the Central Regional just outside of St. Louis, will compete at five regional sites. Each regional is double elimination where the winners of all eight regional tournaments will qualify for the pool play double-elimination championship at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis., that is scheduled for May 25-29/30, 2018.

The Lynx are 29-14 on the season, earning their highest number of wins since the 2015 campaign, as they enter their fourth NCAA appearance in the last five years. Last year Rhodes defeated Texas-Tyler and Linfield College in the West Regional in Tyler, Texas before falling to eventual champion, Cal Luthern by two runs. The Lynx closed out the season with another two-run loss to Concordia-Texas.

Franklin defeated Anderson 7-1 on Saturday to win the Heartland College Athletic Conference's automatic bid. The Grizzlies are 38-3 on the season and are making their first NCAA appearance since 2011.
