Karvoski Steps Down as Hendrix Field Hockey Coach
CONWAY, Ark. – After six years, Ellie Karvoski has stepped down as the head coach of the Hendrix College field hockey team. Karvoski, who started the Warrior program in 2006, will take a job in the private sector.

(ATLANTA, Ga.) –The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2012 fall term and a total of 534 student-athletes made the list.

SAA Announces Fall Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams
(ATLANTA, Ga.) –The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced the 2012 Fall Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 50 student-athletes among the league’s eight full-time members and one affiliate member (Transylvania University) received recognition.

Field Hockey All-Conference Award Winners Announced
The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced the 2012 Field All-Conference award winners and, after exclusive voting conducted by the league’s head coaches, Katie Faucher of Rhodes was named Offensive Player of the Year, Rhodes’ Regan McLaughlin was named Defensive Player of the Year and Centre’s Erin Mays claimed Newcomer of the Year status. Rhodes head coach Jane Wells received the Coach of the Year honor from her peers.

Rhodes College claimed the first Southern Athletic Association Field Hockey Championship on Sunday by topping Centre College in Memphis, Tenn., 1-0. The Lynx got a goal midway through the first half and made it hold up to claim the conference hardware.

Centre College swept the awards this week as Chelsea Klein earned Offensive Player of the Week status and teammate Sydney White claimed the defensive prize.
