Goss and Sommi named SAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week winners

ATLANTA (March 12, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Madison Goss (Offense) of Oglethorpe and Kit Sommi (Defense) of Sewanee have been named the SAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honorees.

Offense

Madison Goss - Oglethorpe

Goss had an outstanding week for the Stormy Petrels, scoring four goals and passing out two assists in the team's victory over Brenau. In addition, Goss nabbed seven draw controls over the course of the game. For the season, Goss sits ninth in the SAA in draw controls with 23.

Defense

Kit Sommi - Sewanee

Sommi collected 12 draw controls over three matches for Sewanee. The senior also forced eight turnovers and scooped up 13 groundballs. To go with her defensive numbers, she also netted four goals. On the year, the Knoxville, Tenn. native is third in the SAA in draw controls (31) and second in caused turnovers (20).
