Berry claims first SAA men's cross country championship

The Berry Vikings won their first SAA men's cross country championship Saturday, racing to 43 points at the SAA Cross Country Championships in Sewanee, Tennessee at The Course at Sewanee. 

The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels finished second with 46 points, while the Rhodes Lynx came in third with 74 points and the Centre Colonels grabbed fourth with 89 points.

Berry's Bradshaw Lathbury took first place in the men's 8-kilometer race and garnered SAA Men's Runner of the Year accolades for his efforts, crossing the finish line in 25:52.84. Oglethorpe's Ashton Deriso finished sixth overall in 27:00.66, the best mark by a first-year athlete, to garner the SAA Newcomer of the Year award.
