ROME, Ga. (Feb. 27, 2021) – Led by four runners in the top-10, the Centre men's cross country team won the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship, Saturday.
The Colonels finished the SAA Championship meet total, 40 points. Oglethorpe also ran well for second with 59 points while host Berry was third with 60 points. Rhodes finished the muddy course in fourth place with a 68-point total while Millsaps closed out the teams scores in fifth.
Jared Briant of Rhodes was named SAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year winning the 8K event in 26:55.20. He was followed by Bradshaw Lathbury of Berry at 27:07.40.
Ben Hazelwood of Rhodes took third with a time of 27:16.20.

The top-five finishers were All-SAA First-Team selections while the 6-10 spots were named to the All-SAA Second- Team. The 11-15 runners were placed on the All-SAA Honorable Mention Team.
