Defending champion Centre garnered four of a possible seven first-place votes to secure the top spot in the inaugural SAA men’s lacrosse preseason poll. The Colonels earned 46 total points to best second-place Rhodes, who garnered two first-place votes, by 3 points in the ranking. Birmingham-Southern finished third with 33 points. Berry secured the other first-place vote and finished fourth.
The league’s men’s lacrosse coaches voted on the poll, each predicting the eventual SAA order of finish 1-7. A first-place vote garnered a team 7 points, a second-place vote netted them 6 points, a third-place vote 5, etc.
The 2022 SAA men’s lacrosse season will get underway this month.
