LOUISVILLE, Ky. (October 28, 2023) – Bradshaw Lathbury became the first three-time Southern Athletic Association men’s cross country champion and led his Berry Vikings to a third-straight team title.
Centre hosted the championship at EP Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville.

SAA Championship Central
Berry won with 26 points, boasting four runners in the top-10. Centre was second with 66 points, finishing just ahead of third place Rhodes with 68.
Lathbury was with the lead pack through the first 2k of the race before pulling away down the stretch. His final time of 25:07 was the second-fastest in SAA Championship history and 11 seconds better than his winning time of a year ago.
Berry’s Grady Coppock was second in 26:46 and Daniel Blaich led Rhodes in third with a time of 25:52. Zachary Benner gave Oglethorpe a fourth place finish with a time of 25:53 and Berry’s Brody Wallace rounded out the top-five in 26:01.
Lathbury collected the SAA Runner of the Year award and the Viking’s Paul Deaton was voted SAA Coach of the Year. Rhodes first year Diego Donald took the SAA Newcomer of the Year honor, finishing in 22
nd with a time of 26:58.
