Men’s Swimming Report – Nov. 8

Atlanta, Ga. – A busy start to November for SAA men’s swimming was highlighted with five dual meets.
 
Centre took the short trip to Cumberland and fell to the Patriots 196-102 before hosting Wittenberg the following day and winning 158-51. Rhodes was a winner over SAA foe Millsaps 173-59 at Flowood, Mississippi.
 
Hendrix came up short to Henderson State on the road and Birmingham-Southern dropped a close decision to Montevallo.

Athletes of the Week:
SWIMMING: Ben Anderson | Millsaps | Sophomore | Estes Park, Colo. -   posted a standout performance in the Majors dual meet with Rhodes. The sophomore won three individual events, posting times of 22.72 in the 50-yard freestyle, 49.17 in the 100-yard freestyle, and 1:50.70 in the 200-yard freestyle. Anderson also swam the third leg of Millsaps 200-yard medley relay team in 24.18, helping the Majors to a third place time of 1:46.51.   
 
DIVING: Rowan Fitzsimmons | Centre | First Year | Chattanooga, Tenn.  -  won both dives at the University of the Cumberlands dual meet on Friday evening. The newcomer posted a winning score of 268.70 in the one-meter dive and 273.45 in three-meter.
 
Notable Performances:
  • Xavier Moore (Centre) – posted fast times for the Colonels in a pair of dual meets. The first year went 27.80 in the 50-yard breaststroke on the medley relay, 1:00.44 in the 100-yard breaststroke, and 22.50 in the 50-yard freestyle against Cumberlands. The next day he won the 100 free in a time of 49.48 against Wittenberg.
  • Graham Simmon (Birmingham-Southern) – against Montevallo, he split 28.17 in the breaststroke of the BSC 200-yard medley while earning three individual runner-up finishes. The sophomore posted times of 1:03.00 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 2:17.00 in the 200-yard breaststroke, and 2:02.60 in the 200-yard IM.
