ATLANTA, Ga. (March 14, 2023) – Berry’s Chase Ellis and Sewanee’s Russ Marr were named D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region while Ellis landed First Team NABC All-District, it was announced Tuesday.
 
Ellis was named First Team All-SAA and the conference Player of the Year after a stellar junior campaign. He put up 15.6 points and seven rebounds per game to lead the Vikings to a perfect 14-0 SAA record. He was named a conference-best SAA Player of the Week four times during the season and posted eight double-doubles. Ellis was named to the SAA All-Tournament team, tallying 24 points and 10 rebounds in the championship game.
 
Marr led Sewanee to the SAA Tournament Championship, upsetting Berry in the title game and earning a spot in the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament. The sophomore was named tournament MVP to follow up a First Team All-SAA season. He led the league in scoring with 21.1 points a game, bolstered by a SAA-best 82 three-pointers. Marr earned three SAA Player of the Week honors during the season.
