ATLANTA, Ga. (May 1, 2023) – The Southern Athletic Association has announced its men’s lacrosse all-conference teams following the 2023 season.
 
Will Hubbs was voted the SAA Offense Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, leading Centre to a share of the conference regular season title. Teammate Ryan Black earned Newcomer of the Year honors. Nick English of Berry was named Defensive Player of the Year and Sewanee’s Nick DiBernardo was voted SAA Coach of the Year.
 
Hubbs was tied for second with 21 SAA goals this season. The senior showed out in big games, scoring six goals against Berry and putting up five scores at Sewanee, leading the Colonels to a share of the SAA regular season title. Hubbs was twice named the SAA Offensive Player of the Week this in 2023.
 
English was the SAA Defensive Player of the Week four times this season. The senior led the SAA with 9.3 ground balls per conference game and was 70 percent in faceoffs, winning 107.
 
Black led the SAA in goals, putting up 26 in conference play. He enjoyed a huge day against Sewanee in the regular season finale, racking up seven goals and an assist for a decisive win.
 
DiBernardo is in his third season leading the Sewanee men’s lacrosse program. He guided the Tigers to an 10-4 regular season and 5-1 mark in the conference, leading to Sewanee’s fifth SAA title in program history.
