SAA Reveals 2023 Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Teams

ATLANTA, Ga. (May 1, 2023) – The Southern Athletic Association has announced women’s lacrosse All-Conference teams for the 2023 season.
 
Rhodes attack Emily Bruner was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Berry’s Sophie Morris was voted the Defensive Player of the Year. Dani Taraska of Berry earned Newcomer of the Year honors and Vikings leader Brittni Hall was named Coach of the Year.
 
Bruner led the nation in assists this season, handing out 38 in conference play. The senior also netted 10 SAA goals to lead the conference with eight points a game. Twice this season Bruner racked up nine assists in a game, including an 11 point (two goals, nine assists) game against Birmingham-Southern.
 
Morris started every game for the Vikings and tied for the conference lead with four ground balls per SAA match-up. The senior led the league in caused turnovers, racking up 20 in conference play. Morris posted six ground balls and four caused turnovers against BSC and followed with a five ground balls, five CT’s performance against Hendrix.
 
Taraska put up 19 goals in conference play, the sixth most in the league, while ranking fifth with 42 shots. The freshman also grabbed 2.83 ground balls a game and caused 3.2 turnovers a night. She filled the stat sheet in a Vikings win over Centre, tallying four goals, three ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls.
 
Hall is in her sixth season leading Berry, guiding the Vikings to a 5-1 conference record and runner-up finish. Overall, Berry posted a 14-3 mark this season, a five win improvement from a year ago.
