ATLANTA, Ga. (May 3, 2023) – The Southern Athletic Association has announced its 2023 men’s tennis All-Conference teams.

Hendrix standout Agustin Kalinowski was named the SAA Player of the Year. Rhodes picked up two awards with freshman Oliver Bonovich being voted SAA Newcomer of the Year and Tyler Cempre earning Coach of the Year honors.

Kalinowski posted a 6-1 record in SAA singles play and 3-4 mark in doubles, competing at No. 1 in both. He won in straight sets in every singles match with the lone loss coming as a retirement due to injury. The sophomore from Argentina closed the season on a four-match winning streak. Kalinowski was twice named the SAA Player of the Week this season.

Bonovich went 5-2 in SAA singles play during the year and picked up a pair of doubles victories. He started his conference career with a shutout of his opponent and went on to win four matches in straight sets. The freshman was twice the SAA Player of the Week, winning in doubles on February 13 and singles on March 6.

Cempre is in his seventh season guiding the Lynx men’s tennis program and was named SAA Coach of the Year for the first time. He led Rhodes to a 13-10 overall record, a six victory improvement from a year ago. The Lynx also went 5-2 and finished third in the conference this season, advancing to the SAA tournament semifinals.
