ATLANTA, Ga. (January 25, 2004) – Riding a 38-game conference winning streak, Rhodes was picked as the favorite in the 2024 Southern Athletic Association Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
The Lynx earned 25 points and five first-place votes in the ranking conducted among the SAA’s women’s lacrosse head coaches. Berry was second with 21 points and a first place nod. Sewanee checked in third with 14 points while Oglethorpe totaled 13 points in fourth.

Rhodes has won at least a share of the last eight SAA regular season titles, having not dropped a conference game since April 5, 2016. The Lynx posted a 6-0 mark in the conference a year ago and 15-6 overall record, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. First year head coach Ellison Sherrill will be led by six returning Lynx named to all-SAA teams a year ago, including first teamers Avery Burke, Chloe Parker, and Bari Pinkett.
Reigning SAA Coach of the Year Brittni Hall returns three first teamers for Berry, headlined by Defensive Player of the Year Sophie Morris and Newcomer of the Year Dani Taraska. The Vikings had a breakout 2023 season, going 14-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Rhodes has won the last eight-straight conference tournament crowns and will defend at the 2024 SAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship, beginning April 19 at the two highest seeds. The conference championship game will be played April 28 at the highest remaining seed.
