ATLANTA, Ga. (April 21, 2024) – Winners of the last 10 Southern Athletic Association men’s tennis regular season crowns, Sewanee has clinched the top-seed in the 2024 SAA Tournament.
The 10
th-ranked Tigers posted their sixth-straight undefeated conference season, going 7-0 in league play. Sewanee has dropped just one conference match in SAA history, falling to Oglethorpe in 2016. The regular season title earned Sewanee a bye into the second round of the tournament. They will meet the winner of fourth-seed Centre and fifth-seed Berry’s first round match-up.
Birmingham-Southern picked up the No. 2 seed in the bracket and got a free pass into the second round. Three-seed Rhodes and six-seed Oglethorpe will meet in the first round looking for the right to meet the Colonels in the semifinals.
Sewanee won the 2023 championship behind a 5-1 win over Birmingham-Southern in the championship match.
Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro, Tennessee will serve as the host the 2024 SAA men’s and women’s tennis championship.
