SAA Men’s Golf Report – Sept. 12, 2024

CANTON, Ga.  – Five SAA men’s golf teams started their seasons last week. Hendrix competed at the LeTourneau Tempest Intercollegiate, finishing third among nine teams. Four teams visited the home course of the SAA Championship to play in the Greystone Fall Invitational. Berry and Oglethorpe led the SAA contingent by tying for second place, both at four under. Centre finished eighth and Millsaps was 12th.

Athletes of the Week:
Will Danielson | Millsaps | Senior | Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – A senior from Saskatchewan, Will Danielson got off to a strong start of the 2024-25 season. Playing at the Greystone Fall Invitational, he posted a three-under par 141 to finish tied for third in the field of 79. He opened play with two-under 70 and came back with a one-under 71 to close and grab a spot in the top-3. The performance earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team.
 
Notable Performances:
  • Charles Kyle (Berry) Kyle finished tied for sixth with his teammate Cam Baker as they pushed for an overall second place Berry finish in Dickson, Tennessee. Kyle shot a 68 and 75 in the two-round day with five birdies in round one with a four under par score. For the tournament he shot one under par to help lead his team to an opening second place finish tying with conference opponent, Oglethorpe.
  • Beck Lewis (Oglethorpe) tied for third place at the Greystone Fall Invitational, shooting rounds of 71 and 70 to finish three shots off the lead.
