SAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Report – Sept. 23, 2024

CANTON, Ga.  – Rhodes and Millsaps were the first two squads in the pool, kicking off the 2024-25 SAA swimming & diving season. The Majors had a busy opening weekend, swimming in the Delta State Magnolia Invitational on Friday and then traveling to Memphis to take on Rhodes Saturday afternoon. The Lynx won the head-to-head match-up by a score of 234-27.

Athletes of the Week:
SWIMMER: Daniel Snyder | Rhodes | Senior | Signal Mountain, Tenn.  - delivered a remarkable set of performances this week, dominating multiple events and breaking several pool records. He anchored the free leg of the winning 200 medley relay, which set a new pool record with a time of 1:48.05. He won the 200-meter freestyle in 1:57.69, finishing over three seconds ahead of the competition, and then claimed another victory in the 400-meter freestyle, finishing 10 seconds ahead with a pool record time of 4:13.15. In the 200 individual medley, Snyder placed third with a time of 2:15.46, just .01 seconds shy of his own pool record. He capped off his day by contributing the fastest split (53.56) in an exhibition 400 free relay that also broke the pool record.
 
DIVER: John Beuerlein | Rhodes | Senior | Austin, Texas - had a solid week on the diving boards, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. He scored 307.20 on the 1-meter board and 290.32 on the 3-meter board, demonstrating his skill and consistency. John's strong performances in both competitions highlight his potential and make him a deserving nominee for Diver of the Week honors.
