CANTON, Ga. - Just two games were contested on the SAA gridiron last week, which featured the conference opener for Millsaps and Sewanee. The Majors picked up a road win over the Tigers, 31-21. Hendrix welcomed Huntingdon to Conway and beat the USA South foe 31-28.
The first weekend in October will feature three SAA games as conference play begins to ramp up. Trinity will travel to Centre while Berry hosts Southwestern and Rhodes welcomes Hendrix.

OFFENSIVE:
Cole Canatella | Millsaps | First Year | New Orleans, La. – was instrumental in helping the Majors down Sewanee 31-21 on Saturday. The newcomer was 31-of-38 through the air for 381 yards and three touchdowns and added seven yards and another touchdown on the ground. Canatella scored his running TD from one-yard out on Millsaps first drive and added a 36-yard throw to end the quarter. With the Majors leading 17-14 in the fourth, he had scoring passes of 14 yards and 28 yards to close out the game.
DEFENSIVE:
Seth Hakanson | Hendrix | Graduate | Decatur, Texas - led participants with nine tackles in Hendrix's 31-28 win over Huntingdon on Homecoming at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. The graduate student recorded 1.5 tackles for loss for a total loss of 4 yards and a sack while also forcing a fumble. Hakanson is currently in the top 10 of the conference for tackles per game through four games played.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
Connor Babin | Millsaps | First Year | Homua, La. - helped the Majors win the battle of field position at Sewanee on Saturday. He tallied six kickoffs for 326 yards (54.3-yard average) in a 31-21 triumph.
Notable Performances:
- Kanyn Utley (Hendrix) - led all receivers in Hendrix's 31-28 win over Huntingdon on Homecoming at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. The senior wideout racked up 152 yards on 9 catches, including a 41-yard catch-and-run that kept the Warriors' final drive alive and set up the game-winning field goal. Utley currently ranks second in the conference with 80.5 receiving yards per game.
- Darren Labit (Millsaps) - played a crucial role in helping the Majors defeat Sewanee, 31-21 on the road on Saturday. Labit collected six solo tackles and provided a pass breakup.
