Athletes of the Week:
Offense:
Jackie Powell | Southwestern | JR | Dallas, TX – Powell carried her squad to three wins on five goals, helping the Pirates regain firm ground in their SAA tournament hopes. The junior started the week with two goals against Howard Payne University. She manufactured the first dribbling from half field and riffling a shot top corner. Her second goal came from 35 yards out as her momentum was taking her to the sideline, riffling it into the top corner again. The junior scored two more goals on Friday in the first seven minutes against Millsaps. She scored with both feet as defenses struggle to gameplan how to stop the junior. On Sunday, Powell may have scored her all-time favorite. Powell fired a shot from 25 yards out off the crossbar and in to beat the 21st ranked Rhodes Lynx in front of a raucous crowd for senior night. The goal was in the 79th minute for the game-winner.
Defense:
EJ Searfoss | Southwestern | FR | Bakersfield, CA– Searfoss had an incredible week, helping the Pirates earn three wins, surrendering only one goal in three starts. Searfoss recorded a monstrous 22 saves on the week, highlighted by a career-high 16 on Sunday. She gathered her 5th, 6th, and 7th victory in her freshman season. The week was highlighted by an unbelievable performance, shutting out #21 ranked Rhodes College. She recorded 16 saves with a massive penalty kick denial on a diving save. The keeper also booted a drop kick all the way to the opposing 18-yard box, receiving an assist on the lone goal of the game. Searfoss had a unique game of dominating between the pipes and also contributing to the only goal.

Offense
- Myleigh Oglesby | Oglethorpe | FR | Dunedin, FL – Oglethorpe freshman Myleigh Oglesby scored the game winner on a left-footer in the Stormy Petrels' 1-0 win over Centre on Sunday. It marked a historic victory for the team, which came out on top of the Colonels for the first time in the last 28 meetings, dating back to 1999. The goal was Oglesby's third of the season and helped the Petrels move into fourth in the SAA
- Lila Brackin | Trinity | FR | Dallas, TX – Brackin led Trinity University's women's soccer team to a pair of Southern Athletic Association home wins this weekend, defeating Rhodes College (TN) 1-0 on Friday, and finishing with Sunday's 10-0 win over Millsaps College (TN). Brackin finished with two goals and an assist over the two games, highlighted by her game-winning goal on Friday against the Lynx. She broke a scoreless tie in the 80th minute of the win over Rhodes, which also happened to be the first goal of her collegiate career.
Defense
- Caroline Crimi | Berry | SR | Homewood, AL – A senior centerback from Homewood, AL Crimi helped lead a Vikings defense that allowed just two goals over 180 minutes of action against Centre and Sewanne in SAA action. Crimi led a Vikings backline to allow just one goal against the second best team in the SAA as the Vikings earned a 1-1 tie.
- Sonia Djurasovic | Sewanee | SO | Louisville, KY –Djurasovic anchored a Sewanee backline that conceded only one goal in three matches, playing all 90 minutes. She was instrumental in dissolving opposing chances with her 1-v-1 defending and cover play. She also contributed offensively, scoring two goals. She netted the game-winner in the 34th minute in a neutral-site win against Belhaven and scored in the 78th minute versus Oglethorpe.
- Malea Cesar | Trinity | JR | Portland, OR– Cesar led Trinity's women's soccer team to a pair of home wins in Southern Athletic Association play over the weekend, defeating Rhodes College (TN) and Millsaps College (MS) to take over the top spot in the conference standings, and clinching a bye in the upcoming SAA Tournament. Cesar and the Tiger defense recorded shutout wins in both games, holding the two opponents to just four combined shots across 190 minutes of action. Additionally, Cesar assisted on Friday's game-winning goal in the 80th minute of the 1-0 win over Rhodes.
