Athlete of the Week:
Will Bronson | Trinity | SO | Dallas, TX – Bronson led Trinity's men's basketball team to an 82-74 season-opening victory at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Sunday afternoon. Bronson posted his first career double-double to start off his sophomore year, combining 10 points with a team-leading 12 rebounds and a game-high six blocks. He hit 5-of-6 from the field in his 26 minutes on the floor, including a clutch shot with 1:29 remaining to put Trinity up 76-73 at the time.
Notable Performances:
- Nile King | Berry | SO | McDonough, GA – A sophomore forwards from McDonough, GA King led the Vikings to a 1-1 start to the season. In game one against Centenary King led the Vikings with a double double (17 points, 10 rebounds) on 6-for-11 from the field in a 77-55 win. King then led the Vikings with 12 points and seven rebounds as they fell to No. 21 Maryville. King averaged 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds.
- Kalib Thomas | Centre | JR | Birmingham, AL – In Centre's lone game of last week, Kalib Thomas finished with a game high 18 points to help the Colonels knock off Asbury 86-71. Thomas shot 63 percent from the field and made 4-5 from three-point range to go along with four rebounds, four assists and three steals. With Centre leading by eight points late in the game, Thomas went on a tear, recording seven points and two steals in a 53-second span to put the game away.
- Mason Kemp | Oglethorpe | SR | Roswell, GA –Oglethorpe's Mason Kemp tied his career high in scoring with a 19-point, four-rebound, five-assist effort in the 2025-26 season opener for the Stormy Petrels. He shot 6-of-11 from the field and also notched his career high in steals.
- Phil Dotson | Rhodes | SR | Memphis, TN – Senior guard Phil Dotson delivered a commanding performance in a compelling road win to open the season for the Lynx. In 29 minutes of play, Dotson tallied 19 points, shooting 50% from the field (6-of-12) and 60% from three-point range (3-of-5) while adding two free throws on four attempts. He also contributed three rebounds, four assists, and two steals, making his presence felt on both ends of the court. Dotson’s veteran poise and leadership anchored the Rhodes offense, helping guide the Lynx to victory in a challenging road season opener.
- Shobby Enakpene | Southwestern | SR | Midland, TX – Enakpene scored a career high 21 points against Dallas Christian College in a narrow loss. The guard also picked up six rebounds and two assists as the Pirates top playmaker.
