CANTON, Ga. - The Collegiate Field Hockey Conference (CFHC) has announced the 2025 major award winners along with the first and second team all-conference selections.
Regular season champion Mary Washington placed four in the major award category with Mackenzie Proffitt, Katie Royle, Tori Winans, and head coach Jamie Tierney all garnering major awards. From Marian, Charlotte Touw took Newcomer of the Year.
All-Conference voting was conducted amoung the conference's six head coaches.
Offensive Player of the Year – Mackenzie Proffitt | Mary Washington | JR | Fredericksburg, VA
A two-time CFHC Athlete of the Week, Proffitt has been a driving force for UMW, starting all 18 games this season. She leads the conference in both goals (13) and assists (9), powering the Eagles to a regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the CFHC Tournament. The junior midfielder was instrumental in UMW’s perfect 5–0 conference slate.
Defensive Player of the Year – Katie Royle | Mary Washington | JR | Virginia Beach, VA
Royle has been a cornerstone of the Eagles’ defensive unit, starting every game and consistently disrupting opposing offenses. While she’s added two goals of her own this season, her biggest impact has been anchoring a defense that set the tone all year long.
Goalie of the Year – Tori Winans | Mary Washington | JR | Virginia Beach, VA
Winans has been a steady presence in goal, starting every matchup and earning nine wins. With 67 saves and more than 980 minutes played, she’s been a crucial piece of UMW’s success, providing confidence and control in the backfield.
Newcomer of the Year – Charlotte Touw | Marian | FR | Utrecht, Netherlands
Touw has made an immediate impact in her debut season with the Sabres. Starting all 15 contests, she’s tallied 10 goals and 7 assists, ranking among the top five in the conference in both categories. Her presence has quickly become vital for Marian’s attack.
Coach of the Year – Jamie Tierney | Mary Washington
Coach Tierney guided Mary Washington to a regular-season championship behind a flawless 5–0 conference record. Her leadership is reflected in the team’s individual accolades, with three major award winners and six players earning first- or second-team All-Conference honors.
