CANTON, Ga. - Zabian Boutan of Millsaps and Delvin Gantt of Trinity have been named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week for their defensive efforts last weekend.
DE Zabian Boutan, Sr., Millsaps
Boutan tallied five tackles (four solo), including three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery as Millsaps defeated Centre 28-13. His first sack created a fumble in the third quarter with the Colonels on the Millsaps 15-yard line. He basically sealed the game with a strip sack, which he then also recovered with 3:13 remaining.
CB Delvin Gantt, Sr., Trinity (Texas)
Gantt helped lead the No. 8 Tigers to a convincing 35-7 win over Southwestern over the weekend, as he recorded two interceptions and 107 yards in returns to lead a stingy Tiger defense. Both interceptions led to Trinity touchdowns -- the first of which came on the very next play and put Trinity up 14-7 in the second quarter. His second interception came midway through the fourth quarter and after a 77-yard return, led to Trinity's final touchdown to make it a 35-7 lead with 7:31 remaining.
