Millsaps has won two of the last three SAA championships and pulled off an upset of No. 1 Trinity last season as the tournament’s No. 3 seed. The Majors return an experienced roster led by senior and SAA Tournament MVP Garin Freeman, along with senior Tia Anderson, an All-Tournament Team selection.
Trinity entered last season as the preseason favorite and lived up to expectations by capturing the regular-season title before falling short in the tournament championship game. The Tigers posted an impressive 11-3 record in SAA play during the 2025-26 season and enter this year with just two seniors on the roster.
Berry defeated Oglethorpe in the first round of last season’s SAA Tournament before being eliminated by Trinity. The Vikings return junior Briaiah Lewis, the 2024-25 SAA Rookie of the Year and a 2025-26 All-Conference selection.
The 2027 SAA Women’s Basketball Championship is slated for February 25-27 in Maryville, Tennessee, hosted by Maryville College.
