NEW ORLEANS - The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its weekly awards earlier this afternoon and for the third time this season, Chloe Hein has been named the Division III National Athlete of the Week after another record-setting performance.
Competing in the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va., Hein posted a long jump mark of 21-0.5 (6.41m) to win the event in a field of athletes from all divisions. That mark tied for the longest in the history of Division III women's track & field.
Hein has broken the Centre women's track & field record in the long jump five separate times this season. She now owns three of the top seven marks in NCAA Division III long jump history.
