CANTON, Ga.  – In week one of outdoor competition, Fiona Selders earns Women's Outdoor Track athlete of the week honor and Onoyeme Egure earns Women's Outdoor Field athlete of the week honor.

Athletes of the Week:
Track:
Fiona Selders | Millsaps | JR | Zachary, LA - Millsaps women's track and field junior sprinter Fiona Selders boasted top finishes at the Mississippi College Spring Cleaning Classic on Saturday. Selders secured an eighth-place finish in the women's 200 meters with a time of 25.29 seconds. She also participated in the 100 where she placed tenth, completing her race in 12.33 seconds. Selders became the second-fastest runner in program history in the 100, and the third-fastest in the 200.

Field:
Onoyeme Egure | Berry | JR | Fayetteville, GA - A junior from Fayetteville, GA Egure won the the Shot Put with a throw of 13.79m. It was the furthest throw on the opening weekend in D3.
 
Track:
  • Anna Ayers | Berry | SR | Carrollton, GA - A senior from Carrollton, GA Ayers won the 800m with a time of 2:22.28 for a new lifetime PR and mover her into Berry's top 10 all time list.
  • Breanna Steele | Southwestern | SR | Happy Valley, OR - Steele had another fantastic weekend winning the 1,500 meter heat at the Pirates home meet. The senior recorded a time of 4:53.40 in her win. 
Field:
  • Eleanor Scott | Millsaps | SR | Clinton, MS - Millsaps women's track and field jumper Eleanor Scott began her outdoor season with an outstanding performance at the Mississippi College Spring Classic, securing third place in the triple jump (11.11 meters). Scott also placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.45 meters on Saturday in her hometown of Clinton, Miss.
  • Mia Harris | Oglethorpe | FR - Oglethorpe freshman Mia Harris made a big impact in her debut in the javelin. With a throw of 35.85 meters, she nabbed the top mark in the SAA and seventh best mark in the NCAA.
