DICKSON, Tenn. - The Sewanee Women's Golf Team earned their first title since 2017 with strong performances.
Sewanee set the tone from the opening round and never relinquished the lead, powered by a standout performance from Natalie Catapano, who posted the tournament’s only under-par total at 212 (-4). The freshman capped an incredible debut by earning SAA Rookie of the Year, Tournament Medalist, and Co-Athlete of the Year honors.
Trinity’s Jessica Mason, the other Co-Athlete of the Year, finished second overall after closing with a 75 to post a 222 (+6), leading the Tigers to a runner-up team finish.
Sewanee’s depth proved decisive, placing five golfers inside the top 10. Catapano led the charge, while Anna Claire Gibson delivered a strong performance to tie for third and earn All-Conference honors. Jane Stilz and Rachel Waters each tied for seventh, and Elizabeth Bowman rounded out the group with a ninth-place finish.
Guided by head coach Taylor Mottern, the Sewanee coaching staff was named SAA Coaching Staff of the Year after orchestrating a dominant season.
