DANVILLE, Ky. — Rhodes claimed back-to-back titles, defeating Sewanee 13–11 to secure the 2026 championship.
Sewanee came out strong in the opening period, scoring three unanswered goals before Rhodes’ John Mori got the Lynx on the board with just over a minute remaining. It marked the first of five goals on the day for Mori. Moments later, Griffin Galloway delivered a last-second goal—reminiscent of Thursday’s finish—to cut the deficit to one heading into the second.
The second period proved decisive for Rhodes. The Lynx erupted for a 6–1 run, beginning with a quick strike from Mori to tie the game at three. Less than a minute later, Gavin Nagle connected with Mori again to give Rhodes its first lead. Another rapid goal followed as the Lynx found their rhythm, eventually building an 8–4 advantage at halftime.
Sewanee responded in the third with resilience, scoring four straight goals to even the game at eight before the seven-minute mark. Rhodes answered, however, as Nagle halted the run with a goal, and Andrew Murphy added another to push the Lynx back in front, 10–8, entering the final period.
The Tigers made one last push, narrowing the gap to 11–10 late in the fourth. But the comeback fell short as both teams traded goals down the stretch, sealing a 13–11 victory for Rhodes and another championship trophy.
