Mason Finishes Fourth at NCAA Women's Golf Championship

PALM DESERT, CA - Jessica Mason of Trinity took a historic fourth place finish while Sewanee finished 13th as a team in the 2026 NCAA Women's Golf Championships.

Mason's fourth-place finish is the highest individual finish by a Trinity golfer at the NCAA Championship. Jess finished just two shots behind the individual national champion after posting a four-round total of 285 (70-71-74-70).

Mason closed out the tournament in impressive fashion with a final-round two-under-par 70. After opening the day with a bogey, she quickly settled in and recorded three birdies over her next six holes to get back under par. Mason made the turn at even par with a front-nine score of 36 before building momentum on the back nine. She opened her final nine holes with consecutive birdies and later added another birdie on the par-4 fifth hole to finish the back side at two-under-par with a score of 34.

The Sewanee Tigers finished 13th among the 15 teams that made the cut with a team score of 304 on the final day. All of the Sewanee players started their rounds at hole No. 10. 

Catapano posted two-over on the back nine with seven pars and two bogeys. The Pacific Palisades, Calif., native birdied No. 1 and ended the day with eight consecutive pars for her round of one-over and a four-day total of 293, tied for 16th.
 
Stilz recorded seven pars with two bogeys on the back nine. The Lexington, Ky., native bogeyed No. 1 and registered six pars with a double bogey on the front, but she ended the tournament with a birdie on nine, shooting a four-over 76 for a 72-hole score of 296, tied for 27th.
 
Freshman Elizabeth Bowman carded seven pars with one bogey and a birdie on No. 17 on the back nine. The College Grove, Tenn., native posted a bad four-hole stretch from 1-4 with a double bogey and three bogeys, but she netted four pars with a birdie on seven to finish the round at four-over 76, tied for 71st.
 
Freshman Rachel Waters made five pars and birdied No. 15 on the back nine. The Nashville, Tenn., native posted six pars and three bogeys on the front, shooting a seven-over 79 for a 72-hole score of 316, tied for 72nd.
 
Freshman Anna Claire Gibson recorded five pars with three bogeys and one double on the back nine. The Knoxville, Tenn., native collected two more bogeys and one double on the front, but she registered six pars, including the last five holes, finishing with an 81 and a four-day total of 324, tied for 77th.
