  • Winter / Spring Academic Honor Roll Announced

    ATLANTA –The SAA announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2016 winter and spring terms and a total of 957 student-athletes made the list. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2015-16 Women’s Basketball All-Conference award winners and, after exclusive voting conducted by the league’s head coaches, Sara Dyslin of Hendrix collected the Player of the Year honor. Defensive Player of the Year status was won by Millsaps’ Braxton Thomas while Yorisha Bryant of Birmingham-Southern captured Newcomer of the Year. Bryant’s head coach Mike Ricks of Birmingham-Southern was named Coach of the Year by his peers. A total of 25 student-athletes earned recognition among the league’s All-Conference First, Second and Honorable Mention teams.
