ATLANTA (Oct. 7, 2019) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Hagan Griffith of Hendrix and Blakley Jones of Birmingham-Southern have been named SAA Women's Soccer Players of the Week.
Offense - Hagan Griffith - Senior Forward - Hendrix
In two games, Griffith scored eight goals over two games. Both of her four-goal games tied the Hendrix single-game record. The Arlington, Texas native recorded 8.50 points per game while sustaining a .308 shooting percentage and 9.00 shots on goal per contest.
For the season, Griffith leads the SAA with 19 goals and 42 points.
Defense - Blakley Jones - Senior Keeper - Birmingham-Southern
Jones recorded a shutout and nine saves in a key 2-0 home win over conference foe Rhodes, Saturday. The clean sheet was Jones's second solo shutout of the season. Her nine saves were second-most among SAA goalkeepers over the weekend. Jones leads the SAA in total saves this season and is third in save percentage.
