ROME, Ga. (Nov. 16, 2019) - The Berry football team won a share of its fourth straight Southern Athletic Association (SAA) football championship, Saturday, with a 55-28 victory over visiting Austin. The Vikings are co-champions with Trinity, who also finished with a 7-1 conference record. Berry won the head-to-head matchup earlier this season with the Tigers.

The Vikings earned the league's automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Football Championship. This was the second year in-a-row that Berry clinched the league's title at Valhalla Stadium. Berry has now won 22 straight home games.

Berry, who is ranked No. 20 nationally, will begin its playoff run on November 23. The Vikings have won playoff games each of the past two seasons.
