Williams, Wilson sweep SAA volleyball player of the week honors for Oglethorpe

The SAA named right-side hitter Emma Williams and middle blocker Kinsey Wilson, both of Oglethorpe, as the league's volleyball players of the week Tuesday. The award was voted on by the league's coaches.

Williams had an outstanding week averaging a .293 hitting percentage in the Petrels' three straight wins over the course of the week. She hit an outstanding .412 against Covenant and achieved a triple double - 17 kills, 22 assists, 14 digs. She stayed consistent on the right side in the conference matches against Sewanee and Centre providing a major threat to Oglethorpe's offensive game. She has played in numerous roles this season and has fulfilled the true definition of a utility player. Leading selflessly in playing in whatever role is best for the team.

SAA Defensive Player of the Week - Kinsey Wilson, Oglethorpe
Wilson displayed another dominating performance in her blocking game this week. She average 1.92 blocks per set this week in three straight wins. She had one solo block and 22 blocking assists, totaling 23 total blocks. She has led in blocks per set in the conference throughout the season and is ranked No. 4 in the nation in blocks per set. She is the anchor of the Petrels' blocking game that is No. 1 in conference for overall blocks.
