Atlanta, Ga. – Berry and Rhodes remained undefeated on the season and sixth-ranked Trinity picked up a convincing win over 12th-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor to highlight Southern Athletic Association action. The Vikings went on the road and thumped LaGrange 70-3 and are now the second-highest scoring team in the nation. The Lynx beat Austin 19-17 in its home opener and the Tigers rolled past UMHB 35-16 in their first home game.

Athletes of the Week:
OFFENSIVE: Blake Hembree | Berry | Senior | Villa Rica, Ga. | Hembree led the high-powered Berry offense to a dominating victory over LaGrange, 70-3. She senior was 13-of-19 for 223 hards and three touchdowns. He hit a 41-yard touchdown early in the first quarter to blow the game open and added a second first quarter TD to put the Vikings up 30-0. Hembree’s final scoring pass came late in the second quarter to put Berry up 44-3 at the half.
 
DEFENSIVE: Caleb Harmel | Trinity | 5th Year | Burton, Texas | Harmel was all over the field from his linebacker position and led Trinity to a big win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in a match-up of nationally ranked teams. The senior had two interceptions and 18 return yards to go along with six total tackles and a pass breakup. He anchored a unit that allowed just 16 points and less than 300 yards to the powerful Crusaders offense.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS: Cam Tegge | Centre | Junior | Prospect, Ky. | Tegge was a perfect 3-for-3 in field goals and connected on both extra points to highlight the Colonel’s kicking game. The junior hit from distances of 34, 36, and 42 yards in the game with the last being a career long. His five kickoffs on the afternoon traveled a total of 296 yards with one touchback.
 
Notable Performances:
  • Jacob Buniff (Hendrix) - Connected on 33-of-53 passing for 412 yards and four touchdowns. Currently ranked 2nd in the nation in passing yards (845) and sixth in touchdowns (8).
  • Legend Grigsby (Trinity) – Rushed for a team-high 73 yards and a touchdown on just six carries in the Tigers win over 12th-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor. Late in the first quarter, he broke free for a 46-yard score that put the Tigers up 14-0.
  • Samuel Dagem (Sewanee) – Racked up seven catches for 69 yards, including a 23-yard catch-and-run, leading the Tigers over Westminster 32-14, their first road win in five years.
  • Keegan Glaze (Sewanee) – Totaled 15 tackles, including a 17-yard unassisted sack of the Westminster quarterback, leading the Tigers to a big road win.
  • Ricky Spence Jr. (Birmingham-Southern) – led BSC with 11 tackles, including two for loss and a 10-yard sack. Also had a pass breakup from his defensive line position.
  • Dallas Douglas(Centre) – Totaled three TFL’s and a strip sack in the fourth quarter to lead the Colonels.
  • Brock Skinner (Berry) – Racked up eight tackles, two forced fumbles, one TFL and a pass break-up while recording three sacks in the Vikings win over LaGrange.
  • Thomas Conroy (Rhodes) – Had a huge game against Austin, with two sacks,, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble as part of a team-leading nine tackle afternoon. His second sack came in the fourth quarter to stop the ‘Roos and keep the Lynx in front by two.
  • Cole Porch (Birmingham-Southern) – Hit four punts for 186 yards with a long of 59. He averaged 46.5 yards per kick with one landing inside the 20.
  • Jack Satterfield (Sewanee) – Recorded two punts for 95 yards, including a 61 yarder. Also had six kickoffs for 343 yards and two touchbacks.
