CANTON, Ga. – The 2024-25 SAA indoor track & field season got off the starting line last week with five teams competing across three different meets. Centre hosted its First Chance Meet against eight other schools while Sewanee welcomed four teams for the Mountain Goat Invitational. The Tigers were fourth in the scored meet. Berry, Oglethorpe, and Rhodes took part in the Birmingham Ice Breaker at the CrossPlex.

Track Athlete of the Week:
Madjo Doumbia | Centre | Senior | Philadelphia, Pa. – jumped right into the national performance list top-five in two events and set a pair of school records to start the season.
She ranks fifth nationally in the 60 meters with a time of 7.66 and later stopped the clock at 24.69 in the 200 to rank second in Division III. Both performances were in winning efforts at the Centre First Chance meet. The senior also anchored the women's 4x400 meter relay team who ran a school record time of 4:00.31.
Co-Field Athlete of the Week:
Serena McNeilly | Centre | Sophomore | Radcliff, Ky. – posted a new indoor personal best and tied her indoor school record in the High Jump with a mark of 1.68m (5'6"). Her winning jump currently ranks her #3 in all of NCAA Division III.
Chloe Hein | Centre | Sophomore | Alexandria, Ky. - performed a new indoor personal best and new Centre indoor school record in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.79m (19'0"). Her winning jump currently ranks her #3 in all of NCAA Division III.
Notable Performances:
- Anna Rose (Berry) - The women's 3000m was a huge event for the Vikings with big lifetime personal records, most notably was Anna Rose who placed second in the event with a time of 10:14.46. She flew by multiple Division I and II runners in the event.
- Hannah Rhodes (Oglethorpe) - started her indoor track season with a big personal best of 5:32 in the indoor mile. Her mark also set a new Oglethorpe program best in the event.
- Jocelyn Covaney (Sewanee) - claimed third in the 55-meter hurdles, recording a personal best with a time of 8.31 at the Mountain Goat Invitational.
- Kris Williams (Berry) - was one of five high jumpers to go 1.55m to tie for fourth place in the Birmingham Icebreaker. She tied with fellow conference opponent from Rhodes.
- Keri Edwards (Oglethorpe) - debuted in the triple jump this weekend at the Birmingham Crossplex Icebreaker with a fantastic jump of 10.59 (34'9) to place 19th in a competitive field of division I, II, and III athletes.
- Wrenna Morris (Sewanee) - tied the school record in the pole vault in the first indoor meet of the year. The sophomore vaulted 2.90m, good for first at the Mountain Goat Invitational.
