DICKSON, Tenn. (April 28, 2024) – Centre shot the lowest score in SAA women’s tournament history on Sunday and captured its fourth-straight conference title in dominating fashion.

The Colonels posted a tournament record 889 strokes over the three rounds, bettering its tournament record set last season by 12 shots. Their scores of 296-302-291 (+25) were 42 better than runner-up Rhodes (315-309-307). Sewanee was third at 71 over Oglethorpe (+98) fourth and Berry (+101) fifth.
Rhodes standout Ava Bankston earned medalist honors as the lone player in red numbers, finishing at one-under. She opened with a one-over 73 and got back to even with a 71 on Saturday. Her final round was bogey free until the last hole, posting another 71 to earn the win. Emily Warner of Centre was second at two over (71-75-72) and Annie Piggott of Millsaps took third at seven-over (73-74-76).
The SAA coaches voted on its postseason awards at the championship with Janie Morgan of Centre being named the SAA Athlete of the Year. The Colonels CheyAnn Knudsen was named the SAA Coach of the Year. Along with being medalist, Bankston was named the SAA Newcomer of the Year.
