CANTON, Ga. – Rhodes and Oglethorpe grabbed conference season opening wins and top the SAA standings with three points. The Lynx got past Millsaps 2-1 and OU downed Centre 4-2. Berry and Oglethorpe played to a 1-1 draw.

OFFENSIVE:
Ben Alram | Oglethorpe | Senior | Roujan, France - returning from an injury that sidelined him through the first month of the season, Alram scored two goals in the only match of the week, a 4-2 road win at Centre. His first goal equalized in the 46th minute just after the halftime break, then his second goal broke a 2-2 deadlock in the 60th minute, proving to be the game-winner.
DEFENSIVE:
Michael Hamauei | Millsaps | Junior | Shreveport, La. – played masterfully in the Majors SAA opener narrow 2-1 loss against Rhodes. The junior racked-up a season high 10 saves in all 90 minutes that saw the Lynx get off 24 shots.
Notable Performances:
- Drew Davidson (Centre) – scored the game winning goal, his second of the season, leading the Colonels past Maryville 1-0.
- Grayson Parish (Centre) - got his first collegiate start in goal at Maryville. The Paducah, Ky. native stopped four shots over 90 minutes in the 1-0 win for the Colonels.
- Steven Johnson-Fikula (Oglethorpe) - played a pivotal part in the Stormy Petrels' defensive effort in the SAA opener on the road, helping the team come away with a 4-2 win. He also contributed on the offensive end with an assist of the eventual game-winning goal when the game was even at 2-2 in the 60th minute.
- Nate Slota (Rhodes) - picked up his fourth shutout of the team, tied for the most in the SAA. Slota led and anchored the back line in a match that only allowed 4 shots vs Belhaven, being active off his line both in the air and on the ground to claim numerous long throws and free kicks.
- Sam Harwell (Sewanee) - made six saves in Saturday’s conference opener against Berry, where the Vikings took 15 shots, seven of which were on goal. Harwell came up with several clutch saves, including a remarkable diving stop during a one-on-one situation in the box, preserving the tie game.
