CANTON, Ga. - Two individuals from Oglethorpe University have made their way to the qualifying list for the 2025 Men's Cross Country Championship.
The championship will be held on November 22 in Spartanburg, South Carolina at the Roger Milliken Center.
Ashton Deriso and Zachary Benner of Oglethorpe University qualified for their second NCAA Championship after finishing second (24:32.20) and seventh (24:41.6), respectively.
The duo has been strong all season long after Benner captured the 2025 SAA individual title and Athlete of the Year honors and Deriso took third place at the championship to secure First Team All-SAA honors.
The pair's advancement to the national championship marks the six and seventh time an Oglethorpe runner has made this history. Benner and Deriso account for four of those seven qualifiers.
Last season, the pair took 49th and 217th, respectively, Deriso's 49th-place finish the highest in program history.
