Athletes of the Week:
Track:
Halle Hamilton | Trinity | SO | Craig, CO – Hamilton broke her own school record in the women's 800-meter, setting an indoor PR of 2:18.64 to take second place. Just two seconds off her outdoor PR, it looks like Hamilton will yet again be a crucial piece of the Tigers' dominant mid-distance squad. She is ranked fifth nationally after the first weekend of indoor action this season.
Field:
Serena McNeilly | Centre | JR | Radcliffe, KY – Six-time All-American Serena McNeilly began her junior season on a massive positive note as Centre opened competition at the Centre First Chance Meet. McNeilly posted winning marks of 5-8.75 (1.75m) in the high jump and 39-6.5 (12.05m) in the triple jump to rank atop the conference performance list in each event, with the high jump mark besting her previous school record clear in the event. McNeilly also won the 60m hurdles and finished sixth in the shot put at this weekend's meet.
Track Notable Performances:
- Chloe Hein | Centre | JR | Alexandria, KY – Chloe Hein opened the 2026 season with a pair of wins in sprints. The five-time All-American burned her way to a win in the 60m with a time of 7.59, and then followed that up with a time of 24.74 in the 200m for another first place finish. Both times currently rank her first on the SAA Performance list through the first weekend of competition. Also, while not a track event, Hein set another Centre women's track & field program record in the long jump with a mark of 19-3.25 (5.87m), surpassing her previous school record in the event by half an inch.
- Hannah Rhodes | Oglethorpe | SR | Acworth, GA – Oglethorpe senior Hannah Rhodes, coming off a strong final season in cross country, kicked off her final track season with a strong performance at the Birmingham Icebreaker. She broke two Oglethorpe records, the 3k and 1k, which included a seventh-place finish in 10:52 in the 3k. Her 3:09 time in the 1k was good for 13th place.
- Gracie Schmidt | Sewanee | FR | Dover, NH – Gracie Schmidt ran in her first collegiate meet at the Commodore Winter Challenge, running the 300m in 45.93 and coming in fifth in her heat.
