SAA Swimming & Diving Set for NCAA National Championship

CANTON, Ga. (March 12, 2025) – The Southern Athletic Association will once again be well represented at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championship.

Three swimmers and six divers earned spots in the championship, hosted by the ODAC March 19-22 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

On the boards, the Centre contingent of Rowan Fitsimmons, Justin Toth, Garrett George, Avery Balch, and Brandon Anderson will be joined by Rhodes standout John Beuerlein to compete in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. The squad advanced to the national championship by way of their performances at the NCAA Regional Diving Championship earlier in March.

Centre’s Tiernan Moore is the lone male swimmer from the SAA and will compete in three events. The first year earned qualifying spots in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 IM. The Colonels women will be represented by Callie West, one of the most decorated swimmers in SAA history. The senior is swimming in the 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, and 100 backstroke.

Paxton Smythe of Rhodes is making a return trip to nationals and will swim in the 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, and 100 freestyle.

Competition will begin with 10am prelims, followed by 6pm finals each day.
