MOUNT BERRY, Ga. (March 1, 2025) – Winners of the conference regular season, Berry continues to roll in the postseason, beating Centre 83-65 to win its fifth SAA men’s basketball championship in program history.
The Vikings (18-9) won their first championship in 2018, followed by back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022, a runner-up finish in 2023, and going back-to-back again the last two seasons. The win Saturday gives Berry an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Parker Godwin led five Vikings in double figures with 22 points. The senior was 7-of-9 from three-point range while also adding six rebounds. Nile King and Ryan Luttrell both scored 14 points while SAA Athlete of the Year Braxton Benham recorded 11 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. The senior was named the Tournament MVP and joined Godwin on the All-Tournament Team.
Centre was paced by Landen Hamilton’s 14 points and seven assists. SAA Rookie of the Year Nolan Wahl added 12 points and 14 rebounds. Ryan Shene netted 15 off the bench. Hamilton and Jaxson Banks were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
