Columbus, Ga. (May 7, 2025) – The site of the 1996 Olympic softball competition, South Commons Complex in Columbus, Georgia will host all six conference teams for the 2025 SAA Softball Championship.
Teams will play through a double elimination bracket starting on May 8 with the championship game set for Saturday, May 10.
Regular season champion Berry is the top-seed and earned a bye into the second round. Millsaps and Rhodes tied for second in the league with the Majors earning the No. 2 seed and the other pass into the second round by way of a series win in the regular season.
Four-seed Hendrix and five-seed Sewanee will begin the event at 12pm ET on Thursday. The two squads met in Sewanee two weeks ago with the Warriors winning two of three games. Emma Salis pitched a complete game shutout, beating the Tigers 5-0 in the opener. The second game also went Hendrix way as a Kendyl Patton two RBI double in the seventh lifted the Warriors to a 5-4 win. Sewanee got back on track in the finale, winning 9-1.
The winner of their game will advance to play Berry Thursday afternoon.
Three-seed Rhodes matches up with six-seed Centre Thursday with the winner advancing to play Millsaps in the nightcap. The Lynx swept past Centre in their regular season finale last weekend in Danville. Rhodes won the opener 11-5 with Savannah Russell’s 4-for-4 day leading the way. Gina Dudley struck out seven. Taylor Petty tossed a gem in game two, allowing just one hit in seven innings as the Lynx posted a 2-0 victory. Rhodes then got the brooms out in the finale with a 14-3 victory.
Berry comes into the tournament as the four-time defending champions and owns a record seven SAA softball tournament titles.
