Five Appear on Preseason Bushnell/Golfweek DIII Coaches Poll

NORMAN, Okla. - Five Southern Athletic Association teams appear in the top 25 of the 2025-26 Bushnell/Golfweek DIII Coaches Poll, released by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Sewanee leads the way for the SAA, landing at No. 5 in the preseason rankings. The Tigers return five of their six players from last year’s squad that captured the SAA Championship and placed 10th at the NCAA Tournament.

Just behind them at No. 6 is Oglethorpe, a six-time SAA champion. Under the guidance of head coach Jim Owen, the Stormy Petrels bring back two First-Team All-SAA selections.

New conference members Trinity and Southwestern enter the poll at No. 11 and No. 18, respectively. Trinity features Sam Rossi, the reigning SCAC Freshman of the Year and a Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-Region honoree. Last season, Trinity was ranked No. 10 nationally but narrowly missed an NCAA Championship cut after finishing second in the SCAC Tournament.

Rounding out the top 25 is Berry at No. 23. For the full preseason poll please visit the GCAA.

Institutions open up their fall season next weekend at the SAA Preview located at Greyston Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.
