CANTON, Ga. - The Southern Athletic Association finished week two of football, this time placing athletes from Maryville College and Southwestern University on the D3football.com Team of the Week.
On the offensive side, wide receiver Steph Carter Jr. joined the team of the week after having an impressive day against Ohio Wesleyan, grabbing nine catches for 243 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came on a 75-yard catch as Maryville defeated the Battling Bishops, 48-24.
For the second week in a row, the SAA has landed an athlete on the Special Teams of the Week with Chase Lanham of Southwestern earning these honors as a punter. Lanham had a huge game flipping field position for the Pirates, highlighted by his 74 yard punt which pinned Puget Sound at the 2-yard line. He finished with six punts for an average of 55.3 yards.
