Offense:
Bri Werner | Trinity | SR | Woodbine, Md. – Bri Werner delivered an outstanding opening weekend for the Tigers. She recorded two goals and one assist across 120 minutes of action, while firing 10 total shots, including five on goal. Werner played a pivotal role in Trinity’s 6–0 win over Texas A&M–San Antonio, scoring once and adding an assist, before netting another goal against Pacific Lutheran. Her efforts not only paced the Tiger offense but also pushed her into a tie for the conference lead in goals.
Defense:
Ilsa Newland |Trinity | SR | St. Louis, Mo. – Newland turned in a breakout weekend on both ends of the pitch for the Tigers. The sophomore defender logged 163 minutes, including a full 90 in Trinity’s 1–1 draw with Pacific Lutheran, while anchoring a back line that allowed just four total shots across two matches. Against Texas A&M–San Antonio, Newland and the Tigers’ defense limited the opposition to a single attempt in a dominant 6–0 victory. She also added her first career goal in that match.
Offense Notable Performances:
- Giselle Aitken | Berry | SO | Marietta, Ga. – A sophomore forward from Marietta, Georgia Giselle Aitken helped lead the Vikings to a 4-0 win over LaGrange. Aitken broke the deadlock in the fourth minute with her first goal of the season and would then notch her second in the 56th minute.
- Claire Cavacini | Centre | SO | Fort Thomas, Ky. – Claire Cavacini scored a goal in each of Centre's 2 wins last weekend over Covenant and Division II, Kentucky Wesleyan. All 6 of her shot attempts were on goal as part of an offense that scored 7 goals in the 2 wins.
- Cregar Harlow | Oglethorpe | SR | Roswell, Ga. – Oglethorpe forward Harlow Cregar started her senior campaign with one of the best games by a Stormy Petrel in recent history. With two goals and two assists, she played a part in all four goals of Oglethorpe's 4-1 win over Agnes Scott in the 2025 season opener. Cregar assisted the first goal on a beautiful crossing pass from the right side, finding the head of teammate Delaney Hanks, making it 1-0. Cregar then scored the next one after beating a defender on the dribble and slotting her goal into the side netting to make it 2-0. Agnes Scott made it 2-1 a few minutes later until Cregar assisted the next goal on another great crossing pass. Finally, Cregar solidified Oglethorpe's win and rounded out the scoring with a rebound goal late in the game.
- Sophia Rall | Rhodes | SR | Kansas City, Mo. – Rhodes Senior Sophia Rall powered the Lynx offense over the weekend, scoring two goals in the team’s 3-1 victory over Roanoke. Rall recorded three shots, including two on goal, and found the back of the net in both halves to help secure the win. She followed up with another strong performance against Lynchburg on August 31, tallying two more shots and putting one on frame in a tightly contested 0-0 draw. Across the two matches, Rall totaled four shots, three shots on goal, and four points, leading the Lynx attack.
- Susie Whitsett | Sewanee | SO | Homewood, Ala. – Whitsett scored one goal and recorded two assists in a pair of Sewanee victories. In a 3-1 win against Spalding, she assisted on goals by Mia Ramirez in the 83rd minute and Kylene Monaghan in the 88th minute. Then in Sunday's triumph over Farmingdale State, Whitsett collected a goal in the 75th minute.
- Mia Reyna | Southwestern | SR | McAllen, Tx. – Started in both matches in the 1-1 week against Puget Sound and Concordia. Reyna scored the game deciding goal against Concordia to seal the 2-1 comeback and the first win of the season. Reyna played 84 minutes in game one and 78 in the second.
Defense Notable Performances:
- Kate Hill | Berry | SO | Flowery Branch, Ga. – A sophomore from Flowery Branch, Georgia Kate Hill helped lead the Vikings defense in two 4-0 wins to start the season. In the first game against Agnes Scott, she picked up the win playing the first 45 minutes while allowing no goals. Then in game two she picked up the win against LaGrange playing the first 60 minutes while allowing no goals.
- Emily Lozano | Millsaps | SR | Mesquite, Tx. – Goalkeeper, Emily Lozano kept the Majors alive with a stellar defensive performance against McMurry University at Harper Davis Field on Saturday. She made 13 saves in a narrow 1-0 defeat during the season opener.
- Olivia Barfield | Rhodes | SR | Atlanta, Ga. – Rhodes senior Olivia Barfield anchored the Lynx defense with back-to-back complete-game performances in goal, logging 180 minutes without conceding a goal from open play. Against Roanoke, Barfield faced eight total shots and allowed just one goal, before recording a shutout in the 0-0 draw against Lynchburg. She made two key saves in the Lynchburg match and helped organize a backline that allowed only 14 combined shots across both contests. Barfield finished the weekend with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage, helping Rhodes remain unbeaten through the opening weekend.
- Laney Kalsu | Sewanee| SO | Austin, Tx. – Kalsu anchored a back line that allowed just one goal in two Sewanee wins over the weekend and added a goal offensively. The Tigers allowed just five shots in a 3-1 win over Spalding and gave up five shots in a 4-0 win versus Farmingdale State. Kalsu collected the first goal in Sunday's win over Farmingdale State, scoring off a cross after a corner kick for the first goal of the match (game-winner) in the 17th minute.
- Erin York | Southwestern | JR | Houston, Tx. – Started in both matches for the Pirates in the 1-1 week. York tied a career high ten saves against University of Puget Sound on Friday. This match marked the second time in her career grabbing double-digit saves. She finished with 11 saves on the two matches.
