Athletes of the Week:

Offensive:
Grant Bizjack | Millsaps | FR | Trophy Club, TX – Millsaps football freshman quarterback Grant Bizjack had an incredible showing, helping the Majors defeat Hendrix 41-19 in Conway, Ark., on Saturday. Bizjack tallied 416 all-purpose yards and threw for five touchdowns. He totaled 352 passing yards on 26-of-36 attempts, while also rushing for 64 yards on eight carries. The Trophy Club, Texas, product's five passing scores is tied for third in a single game in program history and his 416 total yards is sixth.
 
Defensive:
Jaden Powell | Trinity | SR | Denton, TX – Powell led Trinity's defense to another dominating performance in a 45-8 road win over Pacific Lutheran University last weekend, finishing off the team's non-conference schedule. Powell recorded a career-high three interceptions and 67 return yards to go with two tackles, becoming Trinity's first player with three interceptions since 2001. Powell and the Tiger defense allowed just 201 yards of total offense that included just 49 yards rushing. His first interception came at his own five-yard line and his 95-yard return for a touchdown was called back to near midfield due to a penalty during that return.
 
Special Teams:
Hayden Rhoades | Trinity | SO | Grapevine, TX – Rhoades scored nine total points to lead Trinity to a 45-8 road win over Pacific Lutheran University last weekend, completing the team's non-conference schedule with a 3-0 record. Rhoades went 6-for-6 on PATs and kicked a career-long 48-yard field goal that is tied for the fourth-longest in school history. Rhoades is 16-for-16 so far this season on extra points and has also hit 2-for-3 field goals - connecting for 47 and 48 yards on his two successful attempts.

Offense
  • Jacorin Thomas | Sewanee | JR | Augusta, GA – Thomas accounted for 241 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in less than two quarters of action in Saturday's win at North Carolina Wesleyan. The junior completed 11-of-13 passes for 128 yards and rushed 13 times for 113 yards (8.7 ypc) and two scores, including TD runs of 40 and 15 yards.
  • Graydon Thompson | Southwestern | JR | Dallas, TX – Thompson had another massive week in the narrow 38-35 loss to Texas Lutheran. He started with catching a pass at the 50-yard and taking it to the house for a 78-yard reception TD. His next touchdown was 21 yards in the back of the endzone. The junior's third was the highlight of the season as he leaped over the corners head and “Mossed” his defender in the endzone to take the lead with three minutes to play. He finished with 200 yards receiving on nine catches. Thompson has accumulated 434 yards on the season with six receiving touchdowns in three games. 
  • Hondo Franklin | Trinity | SO | Allen, TX – Franklin led Trinity's football team to its third straight win to open the 2025 season on Saturday, defeating Pacific Lutheran University 45-8 on the road. Franklin completed 21-of-27 passes for 225 yards and 4 touchdowns, despite playing just over two quarters in Saturday's game, and all those numbers were new career highs for the sophomore in his first season as the Tiger starter. Franklin led the offense to six scores in the seven drives he was under center, leaving the game one drive into the third quarter with a 38-0 lead.
 
Defense
  • Myles Johnson | Millsaps | SO | Maurice, LA – Millsaps football sophomore defensive lineman Myles Johnson was a wrecking ball, helping the Majors dominate and defeat Hendrix 41-19 in Conway, Ark., on Saturday. He posted seven tackles, 2.5 TFLs, including two sacks and a quarterback hurry. Johnson helped hold the Warriors to only 27 rushing yards on 29 rush attempts, while contributing to seven total team sacks — tying for third-most in a single game in program history.
  • Drew Rozier | Sewanee | SO | Dublin, GA – Rozier posted five total tackles with a team-leading two sacks and one QB pressure in helping the Tigers shutout North Carolina Wesleyan, which entered the game averaging 504 yards of total offense, 323.5 yards rushing and 56.5 points per game. Sewanee held NC Wesleyan to 224 yards of total offense, including only 78 in the first half.
 
Special Teams
  • Miles Hamby | Berry | Dacula, GA – A punter from Dacula, Ga. Hamby helped lead the Vikings special teams with 6 punts for 213 yards including putting the opposing team inside the 20 three times.
  • Connor Babin | Millsaps | SO | Fulshear, TX – Millsaps football sophomore kicker Connor Babin was stellar in the Majors' 41-19 road win at Hendrix on Saturday. He finished with eight kickoffs for 498 yards (62.3-yard average) and three touchbacks. Babin added field goals from 20 yards and 30 yards out, while also connecting on all five PATs.
