Trinity Holds the Lead for the Women's Swim and Dive Championship

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Trinity Tigers still hold the lead after the completion of Day Two in the 2026 Southern Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championship.

Southwestern's Elizabeth Krajca took the 500 Free to earn the Pirates first gold of the meet and capture 20 points with a time of 5:11:00. Trinity and Rhodes took the other top two spots with Audrey Jacobson placing second and Taylor McNerney taking third.

Senior Neely Burns swan an NCAA B-cut in the 200 IM at 2:03.98 to claim first and fellow Tiger, Kaitlyn Phan took the bronze at 2:09.26. Coming in between the teammates was Paxton Smythe of Rhodes who finished with a time of 2:08.40.

Caroline Lee highlighted the Colonels of Centre with her win in the 50 Free as she set a new meet and open record with her time of 23.31. Amy Benson from Trinity claimed to be a worthy opponent touching the wall at 23.64 for second and Sewanee's Ada Digby taking third at 23.85 in the tight race.

Taking a break from swimming, the women headed over to the one meter dive where freshman standout Juliet Hood won the event for Trinity to place themselves on top of the podium once again. Centre's Erin Dannemiller finished second while teammate Riley Taylor claimed third.

The day finished off with the 200 Free Relay that ended with Trinity's quartet of Amy Benson, Ava Easley, Allison Ortiz, and Julia Carter on top at 1:35.21. Trinity beat out Centre who took second at 1:36.24 and Sewanee who finished third with a time of 1:366.86.
