CANTON, Ga. - The Southern Athletic Association has released the 2025-26 Women’s Basketball All-Conference teams ahead of the tournament.
Oglethorpe senior Keimarya Rivera was voted the Athlete of the Year while Millsaps senior Elyse Warren was named the Defensive Athlete of the Year. Southwestern first year Neela Castillo is the Rookie of the Year and Trinity, led by head coach Cameron Hill, was tabbed as the Coaching Staff of the Year.
All-Conference voting and selection of the All-Sportsmanship team was conducted among the conference’s head coaches.
Athlete of the Year - Keimarya Rivera (Oglethorpe | SR | Canton, GA)
Rivera etched her name into the record books this season, becoming the Southern Athletic Association’s all-time leading scorer. She currently sits at 1,732 career points and counting. Throughout the year, she has earned six SAA Athlete of the Week honors while recording eleven double-double performances. Rivera’s consistency and leadership have propelled her team to key victories and an impressive 17–8 overall record.
Defensive Athlete of the Year - Elyse Warren (Millsaps | SR | Memphis, TN)
Senior Elyse Warren has been a dominant force for Millsaps this season. Warren became the Southern Athletic Association’s all-time leading rebounder and currently stands at 1,158 career rebounds. On the national stage, she ranks third in NCAA Division III in rebounds per game (17.4) and second in total rebounds this season with 418. Her relentless presence on the glass has been a cornerstone of Millsaps’ success.
Rookie of the Year - Neela Castillo (Southwestern | FR | Kyle, TX)
Neela Castillo of Southwestern has proven to be a true force on the court this season. She delivered a standout 39-point performance against Sewanee at the end of January and is averaging nearly 14 points per game. The dynamic guard has recorded three double-doubles and played a pivotal role in helping her team secure a berth in the Southern Athletic Association tournament.
Coaching Staff of the Year - Trinity (Head Coach Cameron Hill)
The Trinity coaching staff claimed the outright SAA Regular Season Title with an impressive 11-3 SAA record. Trinity leads the SAA in scoring as they average just over 73 points a game and are led by Kylie Minter, the third leading-scorer in the conference along with SAA leader in three point percentage - Livy Sauvageau.
