Millsaps Selected to NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament

CANTON, Ga. - One league school earned a spot in the Division III Women's Basketball Championship field as announced by the NCAA on Monday morning. Conference tournament champion Millsaps College will compete in the NCAA Tournament.

The Division III women's basketball bracket includes 64 teams with 43 qualifying automatically as conference champions. The reamining 21 entrants were determined by ranking in the NCAA Power Index (NPI). 

Millsaps (21-7) is headed to Bethel (MN) to take on the host who holds an overall 22-6 record. Also featured in the pod is Wis.-Platteville (18-8) and Coe (21-6).

Millsaps returns to the tournament after missing last year. In 2024, the Majors took on No.1 NYU in the first round of the tournament, falling 78-51 in Center Valley, Pa. The Majors show depth this year with double-double athlete Elyse Warren backed by a strong force in Garin Freeman and Tia Anderson. Freeman and Anderson average 17.8 and 16.4 points a game, while Warren averages 14.9 points and 17.3 rebounds.
